OP, my pup is a pano pup with downed pasterns. I contacted Carmen, a member on this board. She was very helpful but I'll tell you what I know. You can still limit exercise for your pup with slow steady LEASHED walks but no running, jumping, crazy puppy antics allowed. Crating for long periods of time can actually make downed pasterns worse. And since when you obviously cant supervise your pup, he should be crated. When you can supervise, tether your pup to you with something fun to chew on to help keep him from moving around too much.
Definitely check out the thread Maggie linked. You'll find useful information in there for sure. If you want, I can let you know what I've used to help. Just PM me and let me know!
My pup is now 9 months old, hasn't had an episode of Pano flairing up in a couple weeks and he's no longer down on his pasterns.
