Default Indras PF is going into Remission

Those on Facebook know already.

Her PF's have gone into Remission. It is not completely cleared up but all the wounds are closing. No more redness, open wounds etc. The holes slowly closing too.

That being said, she has some crazy side effects. She is drinking tons of water. She has been eating half a sock and luckily pooped it out (with my assistance). She ate toilet paper, went through my personals and picks up anything she can get her teeths on. Luckily with the German Remedy (Sauerkraut) we avoided an Emergency Visit and everything got pooped out (I had to assist by pulling it gently out).

Anyhow, she is now either wearing a muzzle or crated. If I cant be on top of her at all times. At training she busted through the Vari Kennel door because she could not stand seeing Nala getting worked. Today I moved another Kennel in front of hers and all was good.

Anyhow, she was on a 120 mg Prednisone per day. A lot of people were shocked of the high dosage. I was speculating if there was a mix up between the cyclo and pred dose. But I guess my Vet treated it aggressively because it was pretty bad and he said the results are faster. She will go on 80 mg a day next and put on Cyclo. I am hoping that it will completely clear up. Hopefully we can keep it that way. At least we have a small (rather major) success.

Now lets hope the high dose of Prednisone did not do any damage within a little over a week.

The side effects are insane, she is acting worse than a puppy and I am basically treating her like one. Would have never thought I would utilize a muzzle so a dog cant pick anything up and eat it, since its use is so they cant bite...

Hope she continues to improve. Prednisone has its place! Rather fewer good years than more miserable years. I hope she has a happy rest of her life.

FWIW, socks. Grim did that twice and I understand it is best NOT to help them come out. He just walked along squatting and dragging it and it worked its way out. Gross. Good for muzzling her though...pred makes them ravenous.

That is good news and wow that is an extremely high dose. I know it has to be tapered down to wean them off. I can see why she had so many side affects on that high dosage...can't image how much water she is drinking and then peeing...not to mention hunger and aggression and well all those side affects!
