Default Puppy Walking Weird? (videos)

The last month my pup has been walking a little loose (I think that's what it's called?) on his hind legs. We're going to talk to the vet about it this week, but I wanted to get some opinions of folks from here as well If I need to make a better video, just let me know and I will!
He is 8 months old and is on a raw diet.

Hi,

They have a term for your pups condition, and from a different thread I read on here it is totaly curable. But basically in my non-vet lingo, his front ankles should be more supportive and should be keeping his lower front leg from being used as a paw pad. did that make sense? I'm sure others on here have a much better explanation.

beautiful pup! but definitely get him to the vet ASAP

Ugh - poor pup! He has extreme rear angulation and walking on his hocks, and his pasterns are down.It looks like it could be Carpal subluxation - there are many past threads on the subject if you do a search.

At any rate, he should be seen by a vet and put on a nutritional and exercise regimen to help correct the problem.

So it can be fixed? Hm. Gonna see if I can get him to the vet sooner!

The others already mentioned the downed pasterns and what to do about that. I'd see a vet soon and get that treatment started...

But I wanted to add... while you're at the vet, it may be beneficial to get an x-ray of his hips. It's hard to tell from the videos and also because his front end is weak and his rear angulation is extreme (could just be how he moves to make up for all of it)... but he looks to be bunny hopping and swaying a bit in his rear end as he moves. His hips seem very weak and their movement is classic of HD. I would definitely get everything checked out back there.

As of the other, you can fix that with a good diet, correct exercise, and some supplements.

Good luck.

(although he's got some structure issues going on, he is beautiful. You can definitely tell he's well taken care of. He just needs some help in the bone/joint department)
