I hate that I have so much kibble left over but oh well.

Let me know how that works. Mine doesn't care for raw and most of that stuff gave her bad poop to, I think its the bone and fat(like Sunflowers said)

I've attempted Raw with my dogs several times. Always went well. I tried chicken backs or legs. She loves it, chews it up very well. Never noticed an issue with stools after. Granted it was never more than a meal or two. My husband is my biggest road block with feeding raw. But then again, he's not the one that takes her to the ER vet, or regular one for that matter when things go wrong.

My Riley used to have diarrhea a lot. We changed his food and he now has normal stools.

He is in training class and after the last two classes he threw up in the car. I think it's all the different treats. Today I'm bringing enough of his normal treats for the trainer to use too. I'm hoping this helps.

We try not to give him anything new to eat to keep his poo normal.

Makes me wonder if this occurs in all lines or are some pedigrees more prone to dogs with digestive issues? All three of mine are fine with food change(fed raw) Knock on wood, I've only had two illnesses related to digestive problems in the past 6 years. And nothing to pinpoint why Kacie got sick one November and Onyx two years after that(both cleared up with bland diet/slippery elm)

Right now, he gets a little snack of Vital Essentials and Ziwipeak for breakfast and 4 packages of Darwin's organic beef for dinner.
The Darwin's beef is made with bonemeal instead of ground bone, and he can tolerate it.
He refuses raw in the morning.
Anything bigger than bonemeal will make him vomit.

What I can tell you is that our breeder said his sire was the same way.
Prone to bile vomiting.

Thank goodness he's able to eat raw, though.
When he came to us he was eating Fromm Gold and he made the stinkiest soft serve poo I have ever seen or smelled in my entire life.

Barfing bile due to empty gut isn't a problem....because you know the reason for it. But other digestive issues, IMO isn't something I'd want to carry on genetically. Must have been a good stud to use if it was known he had issues(unless it was just empty gut bile barf)

Yeah it was empty gut bile barf.
I have no idea how he did with bones or fat.

Just to update, Riley is perking up quite a bit. She strolled around the yard for awhile, kept her head up, bullied Tucker a little bit, chased a quail and seemed to smile a bit. (I think it was a smile anyway). She's upstairs with us now, sitting near her dad of course (loves him better than me even though Im the one that takes care of her), occasionally darting around chasing reflections from the sun. lol

Hopefully after a few days of her favorite boiled chicken she'll be 100% raw fed and back in tip top shape! Thanks very much for the replies!

I'm now a bit suspicious about the bag of Acana they've been eating... and not the other proteins. The bag is relatively new, and it occurred to me that when I initially opened the bag, Riley left her bowl full for a bit when I put the food in. Unusual for her. Then the diarrhea issue. Then Tucker left all the food in his bowl last night. This bag of Acana is the only thing in common (they both get other food mixed in, but different brand for each dog). He's also been leaving food in his bowl lately, and it's bits of the Acana, not the other brand I'm mixing in his food. Sounds like the ideal time to make the switch to Raw...
