Default Carsick

My five month old shepherd gets carsick. Usually after about five minutes. I'd really like to have a road trip buddy. Not sure if it goes away with time. Any suggestions?

Try some ginger. Some people use ginger capsules but I've always just made ginger snaps for an upset tummy/car sickness.

I'll be trying this. Today Daisy and I hiked Turkey Mountain (urban wilderness here in Tulsa) that is about 25 minutes away from the house, and she got sick both going and coming. She loved the trail but not the ride.

I have a 5.5 month old that used to get car sick all the time. ginger did not make a difference with him. I cut down on his water a few hours before the trip and also feed him a little less, and add less water to the food if I know he is going to be in the car in a few hours. Also my stopping and starting has gotten much softer and I open the windows. All this and now he is only car sick about 10% of the time from 100% of the time.

I honestly think it is a positioning of the kennel, but I can not put it anywhere else in the car. He can ride in my friends suburban in the middle kennel and be fine no matter how she drives, lol. Hopefully he will grow out of it cause I feel bad for the little (well big) guy.
