My Samantha was dog napped and drop off about 20 miles away on 12/09/2012
For now long story short. She is home now but has been on the run for over two months. She lost a lot of wait. Before this hapend her Stance was strait, no dropping of the hind end. Now her hind end has dropped and it seems like her hind legs are sore. She's just over a year old. My questions are: is this normal for the hind end to drop as she gets older? What is the best thing to get her back in shape, getting her wait back? |

Have you had a thorough vet examination? Maybe there is some damage

HI - so glad you got her back. I would take a poop sample in to the vet office to start, and a vet exam if you haven't done so. While she was gone it is possible she got into giardia, coccidia, and all sorts of worms, which can really do a number on them. Whips especially but they are all bad. They also eat up all the food on the dogs so they get no nutrition and lose weight!
What are you feeding her right now? It may not be helping as much as you think, because the ads we see on TV for dog food are as bad as the people food ones - maybe worse! I will tell you this, if there was no Internet, and just the Beneful commercials - I would think that was the best food.

Take her to your vet and get some xrays done if they feel it's necessary. The HS's don't always do a thorough exam.
Smoked meat is not good for animals. Get her a better dog food than Purina that does not have corn as it's primary protein source. If you want to feed her something extra, had a 70/30 hamburger into her food. How underweight is she?
