What is best for the treatment of Pannus: cyclosporine or prednisolone eye drops?
I do not like optimmune much because is an ointment with only 0.20% of cyclosporine but his eyes is less red with less mucuous but I am not sure how that works with pannus (membrane that starts to cover the cornea). With prednisolone, the pannus is under control (membrane does not grow) but his eyes is still very red with mucuous. By the way, where can I find cyclosporine eye drops with 1-2% concentration? I do not seem to find that anywhere...

We are using Tacrolimus (.02%) twice a day. Initially we were using prednisone just to get the inflamation under control. Now, we just use the Tacrolimus drops.

I have not heard anout that one, how is your dog doing? Is the 0.20% concentration enough? The optimmune with 0.20% of cyclosporine helps but I think the 1 or 2% eye drop would work best.

I use neopolydex drops, haven't tried any other treatments. Inflammation/discharge seems to vary depending on environment (more inflamed looking if he's shedding/gets hair in his eyes), etc. but overall the condition has been stable. Diagnosed about 4 yrs. ago.

Apache was diagnosed with pannus about 7yrs ago and has been on cyclosporine since then. It has to be compounded. I used to get it from drs foster & smith but they just stopped making it. I can get it from my vet for $40.
