Default Bloat scare:(

So tonight around 6 , I fed sage 2 cups of dry food, about 1/2 cup more than usual cause I feel she is on the skinny side. She inhaled it like usual, my fiance was sitting there watching her and called me over saying something is wrong she is pacing around acting really weird, so I ran into the kitchen and as soon as I saw Sage I knew it was bloat....her stomach was huge!!! There was no missing it. It was very tight and pressurised. I imedietly grabbed my phone and had my vets emergency number dialed. As he answered and I started telling him what was going on Sage puked up a bunch of kibble in a large clump. Within seconds of puking her stomach went back down to normal size, and has been that way ever since, no more puking or heaving or anything she is acting fine now, my vet told me that it was obviously good she puked up and to give her one pill of gas x, which I ran to the store bought and gave to her. He also instructed me to measure her stomach with a strip of paper or flexible measuring tape every hour for the next few 3 or 4 hours to make sure she doesnt start bloating again , so far nothing. Do you guys have any other advice? My fiance and I are still scared to death and Im probably not going to get much sleep tonight. So any advice or information would be great, or just some reasurance that she is ok for now..... thanks

Little amounts..... a few licks then take it away.

I would give her a little lick and then take it away for the night. But that is just me.

I think allowing her some water would be fine. Obviously portion it for a little while but otherwise, sounds like she's good.

run your hands down her sides, if you feel the left side extended, her stomach flipped,

i would give ice cubes for thirst. i think you are going to have to look into the surgery that prevents the stomach from flipping.
