Limping... AGAIN :(
Went on our walk this morning at the park with my friend, per the usual. 2 miles in, after crossing the bridge, Kaiser started limping on his RF leg.:( Thank god my friend was with me to watch him while I got back to my car to get him home. Of course me, being paranoid, immediately began to jump to worst case scenario type conclusions given his history. He's at work with me now, just waiting for it to slow down so we can get him x-rayed and see if there's anything going on.

will keep fingers crossed it's 'nothing',,poor Kai and poor you, you've both been thru enough,,let us know how the xrays go
|
Thanks Diane. :) Well, by the time the vet was able to take a look at him he wasn't limping anymore. Palpated his legs and everything seemed fine, so she wants me to just keep an eye on him for now. If he limps again then we'll do x-rays. So far no limp! Hopefully it was just me being paranoid.

yeah:) and yes, I'd rather be paranoid than have a problem!

Yeah... after his first limp turned out to he HD I've been paranoid about everything, lol. Just last month:
Me: OMG, a bump on his chin; what if it's cancer!?!" -sees the dermatologist- Her: Nope, just acne. Good thing I work at a specialty/ER hospital. There's a lot of brains to pick! :wild: |
LOL yep you have the perfect job!! Hey I would picking him apart to if I were you especially all you've gone thru with him..

Our girl Molly has been limping in the rear recently. We got x-rays and nothing showed up, so it's soft tissue/muscle/ligament/tendon. Was advised to rest her for two weeks, just walking - no running, jumping, agility and take some anti-inflammatories.
It seems we did not rest her long enough prior to going to the vet, so every couple weeks she would limp. I'm seeing the same results with my bicep tendon. I rested it until it stopped hurting, but I don't think it was completely healed, I started to exercise with weights and almost immediately it was sore again. I hope your dog's injury is nothing serious, but just requires rest like mine. |
