I have a 2 year old shepherd who is seriously a stinky dog! I read on here that it can be due to not properly being dried after a bath, but I purchased a shop vac and used the blower setting after his last bath. We spent about 45 minutes brushing and drying yet 2 days later he is back to being smelly. He is never left unattended outside, so I know he isn't rolling around in anything... Could it just be his natural odor? I also believe he has skin allergies, which we are in the process of switching over to taste of the wild brand food to see if that helps with this issue. Could the stink be due to scratching? I'm clueless

It's the allergies probably causing yeast. Get a dermatologist. I went thru he** and back with my previous dog with severe allergies. The derm will save you time and money. Most allergies are not to food, but to inhalants. If it is food, I highly suggest going raw.
