Default @( monrht old service dog needs his front dew claws removed

The vet is going to put him under during the operation I will drop him off at 9:15am and pick him up at 4pm that day then have to come back in 3 days to have the bandages changed and then again in 3 days to have the bandages changed and the sutures take them out. I have autism and Fetal alcohol syndrome and this is my beloved service dog what are the risks of the fact they are going to put him under during the operation

Good luck with your sweet pup. From what I know, the surgery is straightforward. It's the aftercare that can be tricky. Mostly making sure they don't chew on the surgical site and create more damage.
An interesting fact, the Great Pyrenees dog can't have their dew claws removed due to the fact that their dew claw is attached to the bone of the leg. I hope everything goes smoothly for you

We had our Walker Coonhound's dew claws removed several years ago. It went very smoothly and never seemed to bother her.....your little one should be fine...
