Question I noticed today

So today I was playing with Hero and I noticed his nose looks VERY dry. To the point where the sides of it almost look grey instead of normal black. It wasn't sensative to touch but it was very dry. He drinks like a fish, and it doesn't seem to bother him but it concerned me. I don't have any pics because I am at work right now but in the AM I will TRY to get him to let me take a pic of it. Have any of you all ever heard or seen or dealt with this? All other aspects seem normal: High energy, LOVES to play, eating and drinking normal, stool is pretty consistant finally I just don't know!

O and a second odd question.... WHEN will he start peeing like a man! lol He still squats and will sometimes pee on the back of his front legs and then I gotta clean him! I dont mind cleaning him but when will he start hiking that ole leg up like a normal dog...

I'm not sure about the dry nose thing.. Is it cold? If the nose is cold, then it's fine (or so I was told by the trainer).. sometimes it gets dry.. maybe it was just a one-off thing.. check when you reach home again.. when was his last deworming? maybe because of that?
2nd question - hahahah.. yeah there have been a few concerns regarding that & all I could make out was that is normal.. I'm no expert but of what I've read is that they raise their leg to mark

Second the have you tried cleaning his nose off. Its possible it's just dirt. If its not dirt and you're concerned, you can use aquaphor or vaseline on his nose to put some moisture back on that spot.

As for the leg hiking thing... he's only 6-7 months old right? He may start to hike that leg up there soon or he may be one of those boys who sticks with the girly pee stance lol. Our male didn't start hiking his leg until he saw other males doing it. Until that point he peed liked a girl. He was about a a year old before it started and he was consistent about it.

I don't have an answer to the nose thing but to the hiking the leg to pee thing, our guy does that and still proceeds to pee all over himself - mainly his front leg - half the time still.... Thank goodness for puppy wipes

You can put some coconut or vitamin E oil on the nose. Rub it in before he has a chance to lick it off.
