My boy Jerry Lee has been scratching his ears for a while now. I first thought he was just scratching the outside because he has no symptoms of an ear infections such as shaking of the head, redness, odor. He is still scratching so now I wonder if it could be an ear infection. I clean his ears with "K9 Ear Solution" by Liquid Health. It is purple ear cleaner. I thought about trying the Zymox Otic solution but if it is an ear infection then I think he might need to see a vet because his ears look good from what I can see and there is no odor coming from them. Any suggestions?

Wolfie was doing the same thing just before Christmas. I took him to the vet, and he did have an ear infection. He was just scratching, but when I tried to look in his ears he yelped. There was no odor and no discharge. It was weird. I would say take Jerry Lee to the vet. You can't be too careful with ear infections.
