Well Jax made it through the night ok. I'm at the vet now. He wants to keep him overnight. He was put on an IV and received several antibiotics. The vet game him some special soft food, which to my surprise, he gobbled right up. If he keeps it down then he will get some barium pellets later to see how far or where the blockage is with X-rays.

Pretty sure giardia and coccidia were ruled out. Intussusception is still a terrifying possibility.

He drew for blood work too

Intussusception can be caused by Coccidia or Giardia. A blockage may also mean he ate something and wasn't able to pass it. Dogs have been known to swallow some rather odd objects such as torn sheets, plastic bottles, toys, socks, etc.
Hope your pup gets straightened out.

Sorry for the delay. I have good news. The vet is about to clear Jax to come home. The barium beads are slowly moving through the intestines. He made his first real stool yesterday, since Sunday. No evidence of the carpet strands in the first stool. He will be on a very soft med food diet until his system is flushed completely.

I'm just still nervous that I don't have solid evidence as to what caused this. I can't go through this again, mentally or financially.

I will have more info when the vet calls me back today. Thanks for everyone's support
