Iverhart Plus and Frontline Tritak

I got these 2 at the vet today and when I got home realized the Iverhart I can get online for 50% cheaper than the vet sold it to me for....also the Frontline looks like you can only purchase this at the vet...what is the difference between the Tritak and the Plus if anyone knows. I feel ripped off.

You might ask if your vet will price match online vendors, next time. One of my vets lets me bring in a print out of what Iverhart Max sells for at KV Supply online, and the vet sells it to me for the same price.

I believe the Frontline product is for fleas. The Iverhart is a heartworm preventative (and also prevents certain other worms--with Iverhart Plus protecting against round and hook works, and Iverhart Max adding tapeworms to the list).

BTW, here's a $3 Iverhart rebate to ease the sting of overpaying at the vet.

There are no good substitutes for Frontline or Advantix, but you should learn how to dose liquid ivermectin or paste if your dog is MDR-1 negative and 90% are.

I can't see buying any prepared ivermectin products.

I use both of those too. As long as you have the prescription for the Iverhart Plus, you can go online to find a deal. Frontline can be purchased at pet stores...I got mine really cheap at Sam's Club(wholesale kinda store).

Same thing happened to me at the vet with the Frontline Tritak...my vet said that they are doing away with Frontline Plus and going to only Tritak...which I'm sure is more expensive for us. Tritak has one extra ingredient which is supposed to kill fleas faster I've been told. I think I'm just going to go back to ordering Frontline Plus online because it worked just fine, and I don't need to pay extra for one extra ingredient!
