Thank you for sharing! I went halfway through it thinking this is going to end in a real bad way. So glad he pulled through and hopefully folks will mentally tuck that away if a healthy dog gets sick after a vaccine.

Wow! Good that you reacted immediately and lucky that the vet was there! Wow!
My 4mo pup had a reaction to the combo vaccine several hours after the injection. He was a faucet on both ends, vomiting and explosive diarrhea. He had fluids and antihistamine treatment at the vet, they treated him for free. After that it was only one vaccine at a time as needed by titers, and for every vaccine he was premeditated with antihistamines. He did not have a reaction after that. |

Wow, that is a roller coaster ride reading your story, very happy for you that it ended how it did.
Kudos to you for keeping your head clear and pointing the Vet in the direction of the vaccine and also to the Vet for listening to what you were saying. |

Thanks to everyone for reading my story and for your support and well wishes.
Gladiator is an amazing boy and I am so glad that my vet is the amazing person she is. If i had brought him to any one of the other clinics, I am certain things would have not come out well. Someone had mentioned that his name was very fitting for his will to fight, I honestly I had never though of it. When I got him at 4 months his name was Wales, after owning him for a few weeks, I knew he needed a name change, and this name was found and seemed to suit him. Now I know there was a reason this name was chosen. |

Wow, that is very scary. Has he been tested for any bleeding disorders at all?

Is there a specific time period (after vaccines) that one should remain on alert? Does it differ per vaccine?

I don't know if there is a specific time ... I lost Abby within 24 hours of her being vaccinated.
My holistic vet has said it can go up to three months, depending on how the dog reacts to the vaccine (internally, for example)
