Not real excited with the price of Trifexis, but it was given to us as an alternative to Sentinel which is currently out of production. For now, being winter in a cold climate, the vet gave us Heartgard Plus for 4 months and I will give Hank the last dose I have of Trifexis in May. By then, I am hoping Sentinel will be available again. My breeder had pushed Revolution but I found it extremely messy and felt like most of it ended up dried up in his fur rather than on his skin. Also very expensive. I am supposed to use Frontline if we see any fleas; hoping that won't happen during the winter months.
I really do prefer the pills that combine heartworm and flea protection, but the vet is not stocking Trifexis at this time. I decideded to try the Heartgard Plus for the winter months and it is a huge savings over Sentinel or Trifexis. I haven't had any vomiting or other adverse reactions with Trifexis, I make sure to give it with his meal.

I am not excited for the price of it either! I do make sure to give it to Remy after she eats.

That's what we are on. Since I was out of her food and needed something, I went ahead and bought a smaller bag of her Purina One healthy puppy formula for large breed puppies, but I would REALLY like to get her on something else! I just need some guidance as to which is good to switch to.
She is our first german shepherd, so I need lots of advice! :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

I don't think it is a side effect, I am afraid that since she did not get her dose last month, she may have contracted a few fleas or something of the like and possibly, a yeast infection flared up again since she is licking so much, especially after urinating. (she spent a day with my cousins dogs who are inside and out dogs, and last time, she came home with a few fleas.) I have not noticed any on her though. Her vet appointment had to be moved to this coming Saturday due to over booking.
