Rocco does not want to eat. He is usually very hungry and even cries for his food. Tonight, he didn't want it at all. He's acting like he doesn't feel well; but he is not vomiting or anything.

Rocco is now 13 1/2 months. There was nothing missing or chewed up when we got home from work. He was very happy to go outside and play, acting like all is fine; but he won't touch his food. I'm very confused.

Is he restless, moving around like he cannot get comfortable, laying crunched up, is his back arched when standing, listless?
Is he drinking? Don't try to feed...he'll be fine skipping a meal. Check his gums. Are they pinkish or pale. Press the gum and count how fast the white (from pressing), returns to pink. When was he last at the vet - what for? How old? Did you recently change food - what food, have you checked online for recalls - treats too?

If he's active and not lying around he may be okay until AM.
OP, what's his usual diet? Does he get human food, treats? Does he have kongs, etc. to chew on, is there a chance a piece of a toy or something got stuck? A sock? Is he crated while you're away? |

OK. Rocco was behaving restlessly until he threw up. He was drinking some water but not a lot. I checked his gums and they are dark and don't even lighten up (that I can see) when I press. He is 13 and 1/2 months. He was a the vet about a month ago for a check up. All was fine. There has been some change to his food. He's been getting some deer meat with his kibble for the last two days. Not a lot though, and he's been fine until now. Poop has been normal, even today. He is now comfortably sleeping on the bed with us. I'm going to give him some plain white rice in the morning and see how he does.
