I let my babies out to potty this morning and I noticed my lab go to a spot near the fence and begin eating something. I called her to the porch and went out to where she was at and there was a small pile of beggin strips that had been cut into approx. 1 in pieces. I picked them up and smelled them and they did have a different odor to them but it was faint.
I came inside and got my peroxide and gave her a tbls of it and walked around with her for about 5 min in the yard, she never did throw up so I went back in the house and got another spoonful for her. When I got back to the porch she had already thrown up and the pieces of beggin strip where in it. I also gave her a slice of bread soaked in milk, and a little later they all had their morning meal. I guess that I am going to have to check the yard before letting them out, the people that live near me are not happy because my dogs bark at them when they come near my property. My property is near others on one end and isolated and surrounded by woods on 3 sides. It is just scary to think that someone could harm my babies and them in their own yard. The reality is that there is no way I can monitor 3 1/2 acres daily and check for poisoned food.

Yikes! I'm so glad you caught it intime... That's crazy that anyone would try that.
![]() Is there anyone you could report it to??? Could you maybe get some motion-activated security cameras?

I have camera's but they have not been installed yet. As for testing the strips I would not know how to go about that and we are on a very, very limited income because of issues out of our control. I asked my husband if he thought we should try to make a police report and he said that they probably would not come, not knowing any more than we do.

Wow, how awful, I don't understand why people are so cruel and thoughtless.
A few years ago my husband's friend, a cop, came home to find some people pouring antifreeze into his yard. He had 2 GSD's. His dogs were OK, but the people got away. He ended up selling his home. |

Hol-ly smokes. I would be flipping out. Glad you were able to get it out of your dog so fast. Hoping for the best.

That is what scared me, I immediately thought that they could have been soaked in antifreeze.

If it helps, I brought my dog to the ER a few years ago b/c she drank out of a puddle. I was worried it was antifreeze. Turned out to be water.
Vet printed me out something saying it would have taken at least five tbls. of antifreeze to warrant treatment. One lick is too much in my eyes, but at least I calmed down a bit.
