We had the PennHip tests done on Nala, and her hips are...below average. We bought her from a breeder who also tested the parents, but I guess things happen. Her left hip ranked in the 30th percentile; 70% of GSDs hips are better than hers. Her right is in the 50th percentile, I believe. When she runs fast in the house, she sometimes slips and her back half kind of slips to the side and she ends up sort of twisted. It's like her back half can't keep up with the front. I was just wondering if this is related to her dysplastic hip?
I'm keeping her pretty fit, because I want her to live a long, healthy life. Is there anything else that can help her? |

Glucosamine is supposed to be helpful though I'm sure others have more info. Our puppy has clicky hips (but no pain) and we were told he might need hip surgery in the future. When I asked around many people said their puppies were put on glucosamine and it helped a lot. Good luck to you!
