Sick Puppy :( - Page 4

Nutro products were heavily involved in the melamine recalls. Our dog had a bad intolerance to the corn in them. When there's food intolerances and allergies it's usually to corn, wheat, soy and chicken.

What was the diagnosis, or what did your vet feel was wrong?

Vet was unsure so he just treated the symptoms, just as we always do in the medical field. I also looked at the labs and didn't see anything that looked abnormal (in my eyes that is).

They tested him for parvo?

No x-rays for a possible blockage? Bloodwork?

They tested for parvo, came back negative. They did blood work, everything was good. His respiratory is fine, gastro was clear.

I hope he's feeling better. I agree with msvette, there are better kibble options out there.

What would you all suggest that's not going to break the bank but is still rich in protein to keep him growing?

A large breed puppy or else (what we feed here) Kirkland Signature. 4health or Diamond Naturals if you don't have a Costco card.
You don't want the puppy growing too fast anyway due to skeletal development.

We feed NutraMax Large Breed Puppy.. Chicken and Whole Grain Rice to be exact.

I would not feed it to my dogs.
We use Kirkland Signature.
