Default Gastro Intestinal Bleeding

Hi All, I have a GSD pup, 14 months old now. I have been having a problem lately and very worried and can't seem to cure him. He has been seeing the best vets in my city. I am from Chennai, India. Problem started when I started giving him Maxi Adult Royal Canine food with plenty of beef and eggs. He was earlier on royal canine GSD junior food with eggs. In two weeks he developed gastro intestinal bleeding along with loose stool with reddish discharge. We took him to vet and for the past 5 weeks we have been trying to cure him. Tested for Parvovirus and Leptospirosis but was negative. An X-ray showed swollen lower intestine. His BUN and urea level were pretty high, so we put him on IV fluids and brought it down. He is on royal canine gastro intestinal food and the point to be noted here is that, if he eats his food morning and evening, his stool is perfectly normal, but if he skips a meal, then his stool is loose with bloodish discharge( melena) and he passes stool with blood. Sometimes his stool is normal for days but then he skips a meal and it becomes bad immediately. I feel he is not cured. Vets said it will take a month. I am wondering if anyone in the community had this problem before. Vets think, it could have been the beef we fed him or he could have had leptospirosis even though the test was negative. He has lost a lot of weight, but is very active and playful. Can anybody please advise from experience. Thanks. Shene
