I've suspected it for a while. Not going to pay the $70 for the test since there is no cure. Rayden, my precious baby, has DM.
He's been dragging his rear feet on occasion for a while. The stumbling has gotten more frequent. Yesterday he fell again on the stairs. I thought he had broken his leg - I could feel 2 huge knots. I've known since he was 2 that he had bad hips. But now his muscles are so wasted that you can feel the hip. 2 weeks ago he was running around the yard!! how could it have gotten so bad so quickly??The vet started him on "Cell Advance 880" She said that, hopefully, it will help slow the progression. |

I guess my question is if this can help slow down the progression now, would have it done so when he was 2 or would have the results been the same? I don't know a lot about this, so I guess I'm looking to learn.

That's heartbreaking to hear. Hope the progression will slow down in Rayden, poor baby...I didn't know that DM could progress that quickly either?!? Best to you and keep us posted on how the meds help...

May be worth getting an xray to see if it could be something like lumbosacral disease causing a pinched nerve.

He started dragging one rear foot almost a year ago and only on occasion. We started some supplments then - MSM, he was already on glucosomine, flaxseed, etc

What about stem cell therapy? That helped Rebel's dog.

oh I'm sorry. I second the stem cell therapy just from what I have seen and read on this forum. Best of luck to you!
