I came home yesterday after work, and I noticed that her eye lids were slightly swollen
and her skin on them and around seemed pinkish red, the skin on her inner ears seemed also pinkish. Her eye's seemed 10% glazed over. Few hours after supper last night her ear colour went back to normal but this morning her eyes are looking much better, except the "very slight" glaze. ????????? That's weird. To me, it sounds like she might be sensitive to something she was sleeping on. Was she on anything that might have had "Fabreeze" or anything like that, some strong detergents, or some carpet freshener? This is just a guess, BTW. Good luck figuring it out.

I was also thinking an allergic reaction. Sounds similar to the reaction Gretch had as a puppy when she was stung by a bee on her face but I think you'd know if it was a bite vs. reaction to something else. On top of what you described, she also had a knot on her muzzle where she was stung. Have you changed any detergents or used them at a stronger concentrate than normal? Any new cleaning supplies around the house?

interesting point of view, I did wonder about that. And yes there are small
yellowish boogies but why the swelling. According to what everyone said, I'm going to rewash all her sleeping, chillin' blankets. As a matter of fact I did run out of my regular fabric softener, so I helped myself to my wife's smelly one. :/ |

Pink eye can swell the membranes around the eye...we are fighting a batch of it now from when the litter left a few of them had it and passed it to my adult dogs...all red eyes, swollen and droopy lids , nasty yellow eye boogies that crust over...

Would this be considered an infection and cause lets say the white blood cell count to be high?

My guess given the quick resolution would be a contact allergy.
