I know there have been other threads on here, but of course Glock deserves his own thread about this.
The past few weeks he has been licking his front paws, well really just his front left paw. He has been on the same food for three or four months now. He limps some on it because of how much he has licked it. I know allergies are a possibility, anything else it could be? Any tips and suggestions to help him? I feel bad, I don't like taking him on our long walk/romps because of the limp, but we both REALLY need those walks!

If it's only one paw, he may picked up a thorn/cut or some other minor nick and is just obsessing over it. (at least that's what Gunnar does)
I'd give his paw a really close exam. Some of those little ones can be hard to spot. And, BTW, Glock deserves his own FORUM!

I know when Jinx tends to lick a paw it's because of where we were walking like dirt or mud gets up there and irritates it (I don't see anything) when she licks it raw in between the pads so I make her stop licking and always take a warm wash cloth wipe her paws down really well and in between the toes/pads and shes generally fine then each time she goes to lick I tell her no and thats the end of it.. next walk same thing. I would try when he starts licking on it instantly tell him no wipe them down good especially in between everything then he should be fine and make sure it's after every walk and make sure he stops licking so it can heal.

Ugh examining his paw is easier said than done!! My monster has always let me play with his paws, kiss them, whatever, but nooo not now! It is like trying to groom him! Yep, I have a long coat who HATES to be brushed. Those adorable ear floofies? Pure torture to comb. Trying to examine his paw? Try pulling teeth. With your fingers. It would be easier. I have a big baby as a dog. Of course I can put him in a full body lock, wrap my arms and legs around him and he will squirm, never ever try and bite or growl, but squirm out.
Uncle Randy do you want him???
