Default Rocky HATES me now!

Rocky got an irritating habit of biting his feet. I knew it wasn't food and asked the apartment if they had done something to the grass...apparently they put a new fertilizer or grass growing chemical? I can't completely avoid the grass and I hoped it would go away..

It hasn't. Rocky bites, nibbles, and licks the bottom of his feet, inbetween the pads and in the middle. Yesterday I checked them again, after 4 days, and they are starting to get red and raw.

I made him lay down, cleaned them with soap and water, and used this "anti itch" dog spray that has bitter taste to it.

He just tried to bite his foot and flipped out, made the FUNNIEST face expression ever!

I am buying a cone too so I don't have to constantly spray his feet.

Poor Rocky! I wash Wolfie's feet with dog shampoo and a facecloth every time we come back from a walk or if it's muddy or wet outside. Maybe just have some wipes or something at the door and wipe his feet every time he comes in to get those chemicals off.

I would be really concerned about any chemicals he might be getting on his feet. Is there any way to avoid this area right now?

Unfortunately, they have the entire apartment grass covered in the chemicals, including the grass on the outside of the building. So we have to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the first grass without it We go on our walks as soon as I wake up but he can't even hold it all the way there. There are a couple other dog owners that have said their dogs keep biting their feet so I was going to try to get a few of us to go talk to the management together.

Wipes are such a good idea! Are baby wipes ok? Or disinfectant wipes?

What about dog booties?

My vet told me to use baby wipes. Also, you might consider a rub of Bag Balm weekly, too.
