All I can think of is she just played / jumped / whatever -- too hard. My experience with that med was horrible, and made my dog very sick, so I'm very gunshy of it now.
Im glad she got better though. I wih i could have said the same about king. I would prefer not to give any meds. I dont like taking them myself. I avoid it at all possible. So giving it to her makes me sad!

If they did x-ray, Pano should show up....though the vet should have thought of that first because it is very common in the breed.
My dog was misdiagnosed with "severe hip dysplasia" when she really only had Pano.
I was getting her spayed at the time and they x-ray'd her(positioning was horrid). Pano never even was in the vets thoughts, and he'd been practicing for over 30 years!!!

Because of the spay she was put on rimadyl and she had three bouts of Pano after that, until she was almost two.
I never put her on pain meds again, but did switch her to raw and started with vitamin C,E & fish oil.
If your vet has knowledge on Pano, s/he should be able to detect it in the x-ray's they took.

I will definitely have to take the previous xrays to the vet when i get the second opinion. I will be switching her fully to raw come summer maybe december. Not when im seperate from my husband though. I did order some glucosomine and condroitan supplements. So vitamin c,e and fish oil help?

C will reduce inflammation, making the bout shorter...it won't prevent Pano. I use human grade supplements from the grocery pharmacy. Don't use esterC on a pup, it has added calcium. So go with C w/ rosehips or citrus bioflavonoids. Start at 500 mg and over a week up it to 1000(split between meals) For the oil I'd give 1000-2000mg daily and then every few days a 400iu of E(make sure the fish oil doesn't already have it included if you supplement w/ E)
I use salmon oil or coconut oil in rotation...never use a fish blend, but it is fine to do so.
If you do switch to raw, you don't have to do the gluco/chrondroitin...the bones you feed will have it already there naturally(unless the dog has an issue that needs larger dosage)

I got my second opinion. Doc said either it was pano or a stretched ligament. Either way she is great now and is relieved from bed rest! Yay!
