Default That CAN'T be good for his system...

I'm not sure how, but he keeps finding and eating sticks. Is it ok for him to eat sticks? He's not outside by himself EVER. I watch him like a hawk. Yet somehow, he manages to eat stuff like this!! *pulls hair out* Tonight, I was going crazy because he smelled like poop every time he walked past (he sucks at cleaning himself...tips on teaching him this? ;P), so I wiped his butt, and there was a stick hanging out....(don't worry, I didn't pull, as I had no idea how long it was). He was able to pass it himself about a minute later...but still...prevention would be awesome....

As a very young pup, Keek was crazy for twigs and branches.....any fluttering leaf blown by a breeze. We just kept at redirecting her attention with toys, treats, hand-clapping, calling Puppy puppy puppy and running away to invite play away from shrubbery and mulch, etc., a$$hat neighbors who thought it was cute and had the gall to encourage it. Unfortunately, she got a tiny sliver stuck inside her cheek. We hadn't realized that it happened until her face, just below her eye, absessed. A $200 ordeal to fix. On a brighter note, Keek perfers toys, especially her flirt-rod, to chase ---but to this very day (she's now three), she still gets that little sparkle in her eyes for twigs and branches.....any fluttering leaf blown by a breeze.

I don't even know when he's eating them, though!! when he's let out in the yard to potty, he sniffs, potties and comes inside....he's on a leash on walks, and when we do our off leash play, he's glued to my heels....=/ I never once see him pick anything up. He's 8 months and I thought he would have grown out of this by now...
