Default Signs of hip displacia

I'm probably panicking for nothing but what are the early signs? My four month old pup still hops up the stairs with his two hind legs together...is this because they're too steep or an early sign? I often catch him sitting like a frog but when I tell him to sit he sits normally so I don't know if he's just being lazy. Am I over reacting?

puppies tend to be clumsy / honky moving little creatures I wouldn't worry about anything right now, I just tend to limit my young dogs from jumping ..It's hard to keep those puppies from doing all kinds of crazy things.

At the appropriate age, you can always have him xrayed to see hip status..and don't forget those elbows to

At four months old, it's probably more ackwardness and lack of coordination. My GSD will sometimes seem to bunny hop when running around and excited, but that's just him being goofy and playful. It did worry me, even though he showed no signs of pain, just because, with a GSD, it's always a worry. I had his hips x-rayed when he turned two, and they turned out to be in very good shape.

The splayed out puppy sit is just that, a lazy puppy sit - normal and he will outgrow it.
