Default can dogs get stomach flu?

(I tried using search but I can't figure out how to search for two words and flu only resulted in one thread)

I thought it might be the food but now I'm not sure. Riley started with runny watery diarrhea sunday but Tucker was fine so i blamed riley's sensitive stomach and a new bag of dog food . (they eat the same food)

now Tucker got me up in the middle of the night with diarrhea and threw up a few times.

Riley has been acting completely normal other than the diarrhea. Tucker seems the same as well, other than the digestive havoc.

Could they have a stomach flu??? They're never out of the fenced yard alone so it's highly unlikely they ate something bad.

well I resorted to google (I think I must have some 'don't reply to her' sign on my profile or something) and apparently dogs can get a canine form of stomach flu. not sure if that's what my babies have but it seems possible.

they're acting normally still and haven't had any poo's since this morning. they're going to get rice and boiled ground beef in a bit... I'm starting to worry they're going to eat ME if I don't give them something.

Our vet said they could. We had it about 18mos. ago, not everyone got it, but a couple of ours did, threw up for a day or two and were fine.
I gave them flagyl/metronidazole after a vet visit for the 1st one and a dosage (mg/lb).
