Default Questions!

Riley has the kink in the tail!! It doesn't make me love her any less! I adore Riley May so much!! Anyways, I also have a question. How long is the German Shepherd Dogs tail supposed to be? Somebody asked me that, and I didn't know the answer (shocker), but it's a MUST for me to find out! I get paranoid when I don't know the answer. I tried to look it up, but I had no luck. I might be typing something in wrong, but anways, does anybody know how long the tail is supposed to be!? Sorry, I don't know where to post this! You'd think I know cause I've been on here for awhile!

From the UScA website
(SV) standard:
Tail
The tail reaches at least to the hock joint, but not past the halfway point of the hock itself. The coat is slightly longer on the underside of the tail. The tail hangs in a soft, saber-like curve. When the dog is excited or in motion, the tail is somewhat raised, but should not reach past the horizontal line. Surgical corrections are not permitted
.

Where's the kink? Did she get it caught in a door?

It looks like her tail curves. Do you feel an actual kink in it, and where in the tail is it?
Onyx has a curl in her tail, so does Kacie. But they can hold them straight as well.

Somebody told me the tail curling like that is the kink. That's why I was asking. When she straightens it out, it's long and touches the ground. The picture below is how her tail looks straighten out, even when she's off of the bed that's how long it is. It touches the ground like it's supposed too. Is it a curly tail, kink, both, or what? Again, it doesn't make me adore her any less, she's my little girl! I can't get enough of her!! Same with Banjo!

That's a long tail . My Kelly had a long tail too ... One time he came in 2nd place in a contest for the dog with the longest tail in Ocala!

Anyway, IMHO looks like a normal GSD tail to me.

Maybe she curls it because the furr at the end of the tail, tickles her?
