I've never heard of this before and now I'm reading about it here. I'm a bit concerned because my puppy eats really fast and drinks lots of water while eating. Is this dangerous?

Here's a good info sheet on bloat. It's on a Great Dane site (Danes have the highest incidence of bloat out of all the breeds) but the information is applicable to GSDs as well.

I'm going to have my dog's stomach tacked this year when he's 18 months old. This will prevent his stomach from flipping if he bloats. I'm doing this because his father died of bloat at 5 years old, and a great-uncle died of bloat as well.
