Default Torn ligament...looks like surgery

I don't have much info as I was at work and my husband took Bond to the vet, but Bond has a torn ligament on his front leg. I don't even know which ligament it is, just that it is the one on the "wrist" area.

Also, our vet is out of town so we won't be able to have a sit down until Monday for more info, but from what my husband has been told, Bond will need surgery

It was a freak accident, Bond tried to run on the linoleum in the kitchen...you know, skidding legs and all as he tried to go from zero to 60mph in about 10 feet of space. His legs where spinning and he was going nowhere (just like a cartoon) and then he yelped and fell and wouldn't bear weight on that foot. Just a freak accident.....and yes, he's not allowed to run in the house, he got excited and was trying to go to his waiting spot as we were on our way out the door.....

When I find out more, I will post the info....but I wanted to know if anyone has gone through this? Bond does agility and LOVES it and it's the only thing that keeps him a calm and happy dog. Bond is also my running partner, we run 3X a week up to 7 miles, he has been conditioned for all of this and I hate to think of what he might not be able to do now.

In the front leg? Hmmm... can you find out more info about which ligament?

For front leg ligament damage they usually fuse the joint, meaning it will never bend again. My dog Sasha had a carpal chip fracture and ligament damage, although it wasn't torn. She was put in a brace where she couldn't bend the joint for 6-8 weeks, then she was transitioned into a flexible brace. if you look on here or google sasha carpal chip fracture it should pull up the xray and brace pictures.
