X-rays - Recommended vets in KY/OH/

Hi all. Whiskey just turned a year old so I wanted to get preliminary x-rays done for his hips and elbows. Is there a vet or orthopedic specialist in the Kentucky, Ohio, or Indiana area that you would recommend? I am located in Louisville, KY and can drive far if the vet is worth it. I just want to make sure my boy has the best placement for the x-ray, and vet that can give me a knowledgeable consultation. I would like to go to an experienced vet that has been in practice for several years and is used to doing hips/elbows.

My local vet charges 90$ for sedation, 200$ for hips and 90$ for elbows. Price isn't a huge factor, but I would like to stay below 400-500$. My vet has been in practice for 30+ years so I'm sure he's done them before, but I wanted to hear recommendations from others.

WOW that is expensive!!! We have an excellent Ortho Specialist in MD where most of the Schutzhund people I know take their dogs to. For Prelims he charges $197 for both hips and elbows! And that includes sedation.

Yea, I figured vets that are used to doing OFA X-rays would be cheaper. I will ask around my SchH club also to see if we can get a better/cheaper option. Thank you!

I just had Berlin's done today by Dr. Lonnie Davis at Troy Animal Hospital in Troy, Ohio - about 30 mins north of Dayton, Oh. He is awesome, but will run you similar in terms of cost. I paid $308 for just hips today with no sedation. But he is one of the best OFA vets in our area. I just posted Berlin's results in this section - not good for her but the x-ray itself is good.

I will definitely ask around during training on Sat. I am sure I can get a good recommendation. I just wanted to see if anyone else knew of someone exceptional (nothing but the best for my boy lol

) in the area!
