Red face OO played too much, Sore/stiff...

Took Chewy to the park today to play with my neices bulldog and there were other dogs there too to play with, mostly lil dogs. So big chewy is running and playing with all the dogs and it was great to see him enjoying himself. Get home, drank water and had dinner. then I notice he is kinda acting sore like he can't walk well. so he is resting no walking for a few days I am adding so that he can rest.

So what is the stuff you give to GSD's for their hips/joints called? and can Iget it at my local petstore chain and how $$$ is it?

Thanks. I want to keep his hips healthy so he can play along time.

Nina

That's really cool. I'm glad he's eating and playing. Alice's best friend is a bulldog....(no accounting for taste, I guess).

I've heard of a product called Synobi G (sp?) Mike used to give it to his dogs for joints and hips.
He recommended it to me when I was having problems with Alice's ataxia from her seizure meds. I haven't tried it due to balancing out her drugs with her protein levels in her food.
I would imagine most glucosomine supplements would help as they are a maintaince thing. I would just make sure that they are not produced in China or some other country that has poor quality control.
I have used Trader Joes glucosomine for my previous shepherd and Zoey the Weasel Terrier and it's helped. It just takes awhile to build up in their system.
(so, if you are the "microwave generation"....7 minutes for a potato!!!! Too long! the results are not instantaneous)
