So today my daughters came running inside saying they saw blood on the playground. I checked my pups mouth and saw it was indeed broken and bleeding. I wiped it off and tried calling the vet (closed) backup vet (retired and moved away apparently). My only other option is urgent care, but if it can wait till morning, it would be a huge financial help. He comes first though, so I need advice.
It's his canine. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, but we were dog sitting for someone else and so our puppy is very tired out. He's 15 weeks old. Definitly still bleeding 2 hours later, but not so much that it's running out while he sleeps. There is lots of dangle red pulp stuff. Do you think it will be ok till morning? Any advice on how to care for it and him until then? I was thinking frozed washcloths to chew on or something. Water soaked food for dinner? |

yes, it is a baby tooth. It happened on my last shepherd too, but hers didn't have so much blood and dangly pulp stuff. Or maybe I just noticed hers much later. I'm already taking him to the vet tomorrow anyway, just want to make sure it's ok to wait that long.

Sounds like maybe she knocked it out a few weeks early. If she does not seem to be in pain I would think having the vet look at it tomorrow morning might be wise. We just lost the baby canines around 21 - 22 weeks old.
One was sideways and pulpy when it came out and did bleed more than I remember but you could also see the tip of the adult tooth coming in.
