Default OFA database

If a breeder OFA's their dogs, will the records always show up in the database?

not sure but I "think" you can request them not to? Say your dog 'flunked' you may have the option not to have it published? Again not sure..so I probably shouldn't have even posted))

Unless you check the little box, ALL results will show up in the database. It does take about 3 months for information to show up.
Alot of times, the person will check the box to specifically have the dogs information not posted to the web site because they are suspecious as to the results before OFA sees them and does not want them posted. IF they turn out good, they can then have them posted, but its a pain in the butt to get OFA to post them in the database at that point.
If the dog is under a year and a prelim was done, those will not show up at all.

All passing results are posted whether the owner wants them to be or not. The little check box referred to is only for non-passing results and gives the owner the option on whether or not those will be posted.

Ok, so basically if the dog passes a specific test, it will automatically be in that database.

Thanks

Some breeders do Pennhip instead of OFA, but its more expensive (I've heard).

True, but I'm looking for tests other than hips. OFA has a much bigger variety of certifications than I believe pennhip does.

If the dog passes and is issued a number, it's in the database. Only exception is some of the DNA tests like DM where they only automatically list results for clear dogs. They'll issue numbers for carriers but won't automatically post the results. I guess it's up to interpretation there if one considers a carrier to be a pass or fail or neither.

Prelims over a year old do show up. Halo is in there and I got her prelims done at 13 months old when she was under for her spay.

Yes, they list prelims if over a year but not for under a year. And I think, though I may not be remembering correctly, that for prelims to be listed at all, good or bad, the box to release all results must be checked.
