Default 11 m old GSD w/Hairloss problems - HELP!

I've never posted on one of them forum sites or anything, but it seems to get alot of responses soo i'll give it a try.

I have an 11 month old unspayed female german shepherd. She is normal weight, good temperment and overall a great dog. For the last 4 months she has been having severe hair loss issues. She has several patches of missing hair on both her sides. I had her tested for ringworm, mites and fleas...it is none of these. She has been on allergy pills twice, and also some pills to help the hair grow back. I also give her a bath twice a week with some medicated shampoo from the vet. Im waiting for a fungal test to come back....part of it did and it was negative...just waiting for the rest. I have took this dog to the vet 4 times in the last 3 months. I am at my wits end on what to do and the vet doesnt seem to be overly helpful.

Where do you live?

What's your lifestyle with your dog? Inside dog? Outside dog? What do you feed your dog?

How much exercise/play/training are you able to give your dog weekly?

What does your breeder say/recommend?

Discuss thyroid with your vet. She's very young for that and not behaving any differently or gaining weight so doubtful but symmetrical hair loss down the sides is one indication of it.

ETA: oops! Annette beat me to my idea.

can you get a picture up?
does the hair look sparse , or is the hair shorter .
When you said at the sides I was thinking of a dog that is a flank sucker . They will suck , sort of shave their hair so that it looks like a sculpted carpet. This is a habit like nail biting , or hair pulling .
