Default HELP.. My dog's not well..

Hello Everyone,

My dog's not well. He has had a lower back problem since long. But since the past few days it has worsened. He has started farting a lot and he can hardly sit and get up. He doesn't even climb up the stairs much.

We took him to the vet. He gave him 4 injections and a few medicines. He has also started incontinent urinating.

He doesn't eat anything. He just keeps having water.

Is it time to let him go?

My dad thinks so. The very thought of it makes me burst out crying.

Can you people please offer any suggestions as to what I should do to not loose him?

hi, you should post this in the health section , you will get more help. Your vet (if you trust them) will help you decide when it is time to let you pup go. We are the stewards for our animals, It is the hardest decision to make , but try to think of your dogs quality of life and suffering. good luck to you ..

This is something you should discuss with his vet. The incontinence could be caused by one of the medications he's taking. Not sure about the farting and not eating, but it sounds like he has some type of digestive problem ... whether it's a fatal problem or one that could be caused by the meds or something that can be easily corrected is again, something you should ask your vet. It could be something simple or it could be very serious.

BEST WISHES in whatever you decide to do.

This sounds like DM. It's a degenerative disease.

If you search DM on the forums you will find many threads about it. How old is your dog?

How old is your dog? He is beautiful. I am so sorry that he is having these problems. My dog is, as well, but she is a very old German Shepherd.

Sometimes things can't be helped, but if supplements, chiropractic or acupuncture haven't been tried, they can sometimes help, depending on what the issue is.

I am sorry to hear your dog is experiencing health problems. I would definitely seek out a Dog Chiropractor for the back issue. When bones are out of alignment they can cause other symptoms, such as urinary, heart, digestive issues, neurological issues, etc depending on what part of the spine is affected. Somebody posted a link to finding a Chiropractor in local areas but I don't remember what post that was. Perhaps somebody can help with that?

Hoping your baby will feel better soon.
