Default What does "HD: B AD: A" mean on the pedigree?

What does "HD: B AD: A" mean on a dog's pedigree? I am familiar with the "a-" ratings for HD, but not letter ratings.

Thanks!

I THINK the "B" and "A" ratings are from Belgium.. B = "near normal hips" and A = "Normal". Can anyone confirm this?

I apologize if this belongs in the pedigree board, but I assumed since it was health related more people would know if placed here.

You'd probablyhave more luck in pedigrees.....that's where people will know thing like foreign hip ratings. Also posting a link to the pedigree might help the context. Doesn't ring a bell to me but might to someone else

I'm wondering how the notation on the pedigree is set up. When I first saw B AD, I thought of the Schutzhund BH and the AD certificates. (BH - sometimes just called a B - is a basic obedience and temperament test, the AD an endurance test)

But if the notation was specifically for hip displasia ratings, then I have no idea . . .

That was actually my first thought, too.........why I suggested posting the pedigree.

HD/B should mean the same as a2 hips--the 2nd highest grade. ED/A should be the highest level.

That's what I gathered from research. Thank you for clarifying!
