Default Wierd Nose Breathing Noise

I have 9 wk old pup that has started making a strange noise the last couple of days when he breathes through his nose. It almost sounds like a pig snorting or like there is something stuck in his nose. He breathes fine out of his mouth but the noise is concerning me. Any ideas of what this might be? I hate to run off to the vet every time he makes a new noise (not to mention I can't afford it) but I don't want to ignore something either.

Any extra fluids coming out of his nose or eyes?

I've known three dogs with a problem like that. Three different vets gave three different answers. Something up their nose, hyperventilating, and I don't remember the last one. If it's just the snort thing I wouldn't worry too much. My Sheltie sometimes does a weird noise thing in the summer when he gets hot.

Your dog might be "Reverse Sneezing". If it is reverse sneezing it is usually harmless ~ it just sounds scary kind of like an asthma attack. Does it look/sound like the examples on this website?

My Beagle has episodes several times a month ~ esp after he spends an afternoon digging in the yard and inhaling a lot of dirt.

Reverse sneeze or any abnormal breathing should be checked out especially in a very young pup. Sorry but every dog I have had that did more than an occasional Reverse sneeze there was a problem.

It kind of sounds like that but without the heaving. It doesn't really seem to phase him at all. I'll probably just make an appointment next week and get it checked.
