Well, technically the date is tomorrow, Dec 9th, but I got her on a Sunday so I'm counting yesterday as her first day with me. I can't believe it's been one year already. What a year it has been.
I saw Lexi in a Craigslist posting and she needed to find a place right away, I went to meet her and I couldn't leave her there. She was 10 months old at the time (her B-day is Feb 7 and she will be 2 this year). I look forward to her turning 2 and getting a little maturity! ![]() Some of you may remember that I had Sydney a GSD mix that passed away 6/12/08. I also had Lily a deaf ACD, she turned 7 in April and I lost her to intestinal Lymphoma 8/29/08. Her loss was devastating to me and so unexpected, she got ill with vague symptoms and by the time she was diagnosed, she only lived 2 more weeks before I had to let her go. Not only was I sad, but so was Lexi. In the absence of another doggie playmate she became even more obsessed with the cats than she was previously. I wasn't sure if I was ready to get another dog, but I knew Lexi needed a new friend. There was a litter of ACD pups in Rescue and I fell in love with a little girl that I have named Ivy. She was 8 weeks old when I got her on Oct 8th. Lexi & Ivy are a match made in Heaven. I couldn't have asked for them to get along any better. Lexi, while still cat obsessed has a wild thing ACD pup to keep her busy most of the time! I'm including a picture of just some of the antics. Ivy is now 16 weeks old and can dish it out as well as take it. Lexi has to be the most tolerant dog on the planet! She never gets mad no matter how hard Ivy bites her. A little payback: And a nice picture of Lexi waiting for me to throw her ball: Lexi has come a long way in a year and I know she will get even better with maturity. Happy Gotcha Day Lexi!!!!
