A year gone already!

A year ago today I started living again. I know that sounds dramatic but it's the truth. Two weeks and a year ago I came home from work to a letter from my daughter telling me how awful of a mother I am and that she was moving away. She moved away with a boy she had met online, 9 hours away, and I didn't know where she was. She was of age so wasn't a runaway. I didn't have any clue this was coming, or that she felt any of this, she kept it hidden well.

My world came apart at the seams. I had trouble finding a reason to get up in the morning, keeping the day to day stuff going, all I could do was worry and cry.

I had already decided that I wanted to get another pup a few months prior. I had been without a dog for a couple of years and I missed the company. I was just looking into breeders when all this happened.

I did the unthinkable and saw a litter on craigslist that was ready to go. I made the call, then a 2 hour trip one way to pick up my 8 week old Dude. He is not the best bred if you look at his pedigree, but that little guy forced me to take care of him.

I once again had a being that needed me, that depended on me. Yes, he saved me. A year ago today I brought him home and I can't remember what life was like without him. He's 14 months old, well behaved (for the most part lol), loves to go and loves people.

Happy gotcha day Dude!! May we have many more!

I hope you have finally gotten in contact with your daughter and she's ok..

Dogs have that amazing ability to keep us going even in the worst of times. Dude is a gorgeous Dude! So glad he saved you, but I'm sure you saved him to:)

Thank you for asking. My daughter did move back to the area at Thanksgiving, she moved in with her father so I know she is ok. We are working on our relationship, taking it slow.

Dude and I keep each other straight lol! It made a world of difference to bring him home that's for sure!

So glad to hear things are coming around for you!

It is amazing what a huge difference they can make in our lives. They demand attention, care and exercise. They do not allow you to make excuses or stay in bed when they want to go out.

In return, they are never judgmental, do not care if your appearance isn't perfect and let's face it- it is hard to be completely depressed with a silly, grinning, tail wagging GSD around. :D

He is a good looking boy!

I hope you enjoy many, many great years with him.
