Happy 1 Year Gotcha Day Sadie !
Its been one year since I got Sadie, my 5 year old GSD. I always wanted a GSD but did not want a puppy. I searched the internet for several months and finally found Sadie at a animal shelter in Upper Michigan. I arranged a visit and went to see her. When I walked into the shelter there was a glass enclosed room in the lobby and there was Sadie, enjoying being on display. The staff told me she had been found by a woman, running along a highway. The staff named her Sahara, but I changed it to Sadie.
Since that day we have become best friends. She is very aloof at times, but if I initiate affection she responds in kind. She also has a wandering spirit. She got loose on me once, but thankfully a neighbor found and returned her. She knows commands like sit and stay. My biggest challenge was getting her to recognize her name. Here she is enjoying a little quiet time in her dog house.
