Happy 1st Birthday Kamahi!!

You came into my life when I needed you the most, and for that there is no amount I could ever repay you. You love me constantly every single day, if I’ve had a bad day you’re there, giving my face a thorough cleaning, and giving me your favorite toy for comfort. I love waking up being greeted by a very exuberant, tail-wagging, bouncy, (sometimes howling), sweet guy like you. You really are perfect.

We’ve been through some ups and downs in your life; moving to the farm, getting over tapeworms because you were eating plenty of horse manure, meeting your baby sister Tosca (even though you acted like you hated her, I knew deep down, VERY deep down, you were going to like her some day, and what do you know, these days you and her are best buds), and not long ago you were getting over panosteitis.

You’ve come a long way from that puppy who used to chew up everything in sight, and all that puppy fuzz has long gone. Now you’re almost all grown up (can't say "all" because you've still got a year to go!), and you're the most beautiful dog I have ever seen. You may not meet the GSD standard in height, your ears may be a little wonky, and sometimes you’re breath just stinks so dang bad, but to me, you're drop dead handsome.

You used to hate the bath tub with a passion, so I sat in there with you for about an hour a day for a week or two, and you warmed up to it, now baths are much easier on the both of us, lol.


You can't really see it in this pic, but you were a gangly teen at this age, and everyone told me that I was starving you, yet you were eating 4 1/2 to 5 or sometimes 6 cups of food a day.

You were growing taller, but you still acted like a big puppy


You used to be able to hide in the long grass

My little puppy was growing up too fast, and look at how handsome you became


Good dogs come and go, but Kamahi, you’re just that one special dog that can never be replaced. I don’t think I could have gotten through this year without you buddy. Happy 1st Birthday baby boy!!! And MANY MANY more!

Happy happy Birthday Kamahi!! You are indeed one Handsome boy and we can tell with every word your mom put here that her love for you is beyond eternity! You are a lucky guy to have such a wonderful mom, awesome pack, and beautiful home!

I honestly thought he was going to take the whole cupcake right into his mouth when I saw this pic but nope, he decided to keep taking it slow.


He was being such a gentleman about taking his time and eating it slowly, taking care to lick up the pieces of cake that had fallen... he's so manly
