One year ago, my little bundle of love came into my life.
I had been searching Petfinder on a daily basis, desperate to get a canine companion. Then on April 22, I saw her listing and knew that we were meant for each other. I begged my boss to let me leave work early and hurried off to the shelter to meet my future dog. I instantly fell in love. They let me walk Ellie around outside and she was absolutely perfect. I signed the adoption papers that day! Unfortunately, they had found her as a stray so they needed to send her to the vet to have her spayed and vaccinated. That meant I had to wait two WHOLE days to bring her home. So 2 restless days later, I finally got to bring Ellie home. (Turned out she had already been spayed so I didn't need to worry about recovery time) I brought her home on April 24, but adopted on April 22 which is why I'm celebrating today ![]()

Happy Gotcha Day!
We don't celebrate Phoenix's b-day b/c we don't know exactly when it is so we celebrate his Gotcha Day instead! Here's to the two of you spending many more glorious years together!
