Happy 5th Birthday, Risa!
It's hard to believe, but my lil fuzzy mutt is 5 years old now. That means she's been with me for about half her life.
 She's starting to get a bit more grey around the muzzle and I've seen a few stray grey hairs in her eyebrows too. But, aside from that, she's still acting like a crazy youngster.  I wanted to do something really fun and different with her today but it just didn't work out. Tough to find something to do when you're new to the area and it's January! But we made due with what we have and I think she still had a very enjoyable day. We started out with presents. I got her a brand-new Lupine collar. It's not the pattern I had originally wanted (that one doesn't come in her size). But I was able to get one that is mostly teal and still matches her other collars and leashes (which are red and purple). She also got a new purple Wubba to replace the one she skinned and destroyed. Risa really loves the Wubbas and they make a great tug toy so I like 'em too. "I don't wanna model my collar. . .I wanna play with my Wubba."  "Yay Wubba."  After breakfast, we walked down to the park to play with the outside Wubba for a bit. Ris had fun chasing it around.  SPROING!  Nom nom nom.  "This is my serious wolf look."  Playing tuggie!  Risa got very excited around lunchtime as the snow started to fall. Her Birthday wish came true! "Mom! Look snow!! Let's go play in it!"  So I took her for a 2-mile walk. It was a bit brisk with the wind but we both had a lot of fun. The snow was coming down pretty good. We might have almost 2 inches (which, for here, is a lot--just not for us).  You can see Long Island Sound here:   For supper, she got a special Birthday dinner: a vension chop and some pork ribs.   Her dessert was splitting an apple with me and the piggies. Apple is the only food I've ever seen her drool for. She absolutely LOVES them. "I'm not drooling. . .really. Mmmm apple."  "Ohhh yeah. Delish!"

 to Miss Risa! I can't believe she's FIVE! She still looks youthful. Looks like she's had a wonderful day filled with goodies and SNOW! Love the photos.
