Agreed! I thought the "I bought a champion show line dog" thread was funny, just some people seem to take it differently and get upset.

Honestly, being a forum moderator is a frustrating, tiresome, and thankless job. Not to mention that mods are unpaid volunteers. I don't blame them for nipping a problematic thread in the bud, because no one has time to sit around and babysit a thread that appears to be going south quickly.

That said, it does sometimes appear that mods are humorless fuddy-duddies. I know I've been admonished in the past for trying to be funny... you have to remember that not everyone on the internet knows you, or your intentions, so a post that can be taken two different ways will often be taken the wrong way.

In fact, for about 24 hours my sig line was "If I say something that can be taken two different ways, and one way makes you sad or mad, I meant it the other way." Meaning, I don't say anything designed to offend. But I was told that I was using that as an excuse to say offensive things. So I removed it, and I simply don't post as much.

Same here.....and I noticed " I bought a World Champion Show Line Dog." is closed.

I guess it would seem simple enough for most, if one doesn't like the responses, sarcasm, innuendo, or barbs directed at them.....they simply do not need to engage in that particular thread.

I thought Harley's posts were amusing, granted those with thin skin exposed themselves with their responses. One has to remember when someone is jerking their chain to either disengage or respond in kind.

I'm still curious if Harley dropped the initial $20K he suggested was burning a hole in his pocket for the purchase of a shepherd pup ?

A cool head always prevails...as they say.

No problem with the mods. here. They do a great job. I think if anything, they really try to let things play out.

You're going to have internet clowns on every forum. You just have to not get wrapped up into thier web of B.S. Same goes for spiteful posters. It's better to just move on. When no ones listening anymore, they just seem to vanish, or get louder and then hang themselves.

I am absolutely sure that the unborn champion GSD puppy cost at least $20K.

I almost wish the offending posts weren't deleted. I know it promotes a healthier environment and some might not be family-friendly, but I actually want to know how much credit I should be giving people's opinions on here. If all their 'crazy' is invisible then I don't know how much leeway I should afford them later on.

But I agree, mods have a thankless job. I was one for a while on an art forum and got sick of the ridiculous politics. It takes a strong, just person to deal with some of the things that come up on the internet. Oy!

I totally agree with you. When you only see one side it isn't fair. But then some do redeem themselves after being on the site for awhile. I don't hold grudges very often unless it is constantly a repeated pattern when people are rude, disrespectful or embellish their accomplishments every time they post.

if a certain admin doesn't like a thread or post it's closed.

Calling another member a bitch, plus worse, did not strike me as funny.
