Hello all!
I picked up my second GSD puppy yesterday. She was the breeders pick, and then he decided he wanted to sell her as he had another litter coming along soon. She's an absolute doll, and she's about 5.5 months old. She's bi color, but the darker part is an odd almost chocolate color. Will her coat stay this way, or change color?
Congratulations on your new pup --- she's a beauty. I'd expect her to lighten a bit as she grows into that blanket. She looks more black and tan to me than a bicolor from the photo angles. Love her full dark mask and relaxed calm demeanor looks like she has bonded well with you. =)
I don't see a bi color or a sable. Classic Black and Tan with a dark mask... the "chocolate" appearance is most likely just due to the sun and/or puppy fur which is duller in color.
Not bi or sable. Black and tan coatie. It is possible that the black is washed out a bit. She has a black nose and mask, so she is not a liver or blue.
I agree, definitely black and tan. A sable puppy would be solid red/tan at this point in their puppy fuzz. The brownness is just the puppy fuzz, she should darken up once it comes out. All my black puppies has a brownish tinge to them when they had puppy fuzz, it was more noticeable on the coated puppies.
black and tan .
will be closer to the sire's appearance .
the dam is very washed out -- needs pigment
