Default Help with 6 week old puppy

Hi everyone new here... I rescued a 6 week old GSD pit bull mix puppy yesterday and I have some critical questions. First this is going to be my first dog that was brought home earlier than 8 weeks and most of mine have actually come home between 9 -12 weeks and I have some questions.

First I'll explain the pups circumstances. Her mother passed away due to neglect from the "breeder" she pretty much starved to death. This so called breeder also didn't really feed the puppies either. "Lexi" is very tiny, in fact for her breed I would have expected her to be a lot bigger than she is now. She was also living in a cramped trailer with several unhealthy looking cats.

Lexi will be going to the vet on Monday to be checked out and have her first set of vaccines, but thought I'd get some help in the meantime. Will she have any development issues either physically or mentally? Will she have issues in training and socializing ? I am not going to give this sweet girl up if that's the case would just like a heads up and what I can do to help prevent anything or help her these next crucial weeks.

thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum and sounds like you got your puppy out of a bad situation.

If you have any friends with dogs that would be good with a 6 week old (and as she grows) it's important that she be able to interact with other dogs and learn to be/read dog language over the next few months. But it has to be with a reliable dog.

Otherwise, she should be like all our dogs and need a whole lot of ---> Top Training Expectations for Puppies

While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.
